Kewaunee Girls Racks Up Two Wins

The Kewaunee girls basketball team continued their winning streak this week.
On Saturday, Nov. 28, the Storm tallied up a 64-50 win against Luxemburg-Casco High School in a non-conference game.
Brooke Geier had 30 points, Abby Van Goethem had 10 points and Angie Kudick had nine points.
The team also had strong team rebounding with Ellie Olsen and Geier each pulling down eight rebounds. Combined the team had 10 steals and 12 team assists.
“This was a signature game for us, ” said Storm head coach Lynne Geier. “It was a battle and L-C has a great team with a great future.”
The Spartans Cassie Schiltz had 19 points with Mariah Tebon and Alexis Dorner each scored 11 points.
“It was a great team effort defensively,” Geier said. “All of the players and the team unity helped us to be successful.”
On Monday, the Storm beat Mishicot 67-28. Geier had 24 points with Kudick and Olsen each scoring ten points..
“Our defense stepped up and picked up the second half,” said Geier. “We started a better offensive tempo inside and out where all the players contributed.”
In rebounds, Olsen led with 8, followed by VanGoethem and Baumgartner who each had 5. The team contributed 17 steals and combined for 14 assists, said Geier.
The Storm (4-0, 2-0 Packerland) plays at Southern Door Dec. 4 and hosts Sevastopol Dec. 8.

DE PERE – De Pere got off to a strong start, Algoma rallied, but the Redbirds persevered and defeated the Wolves 49-40 in a marquee girls basketball nonconference game on Tuesday.
De Pere started game on a 10-2 run. Algoma (4-1), the top-ranked Division 4 team in the state, took a 15-14 lead – its only lead of the game – on steal and layup by Anna Dier with six minutes remaining in the first half.
The Redbirds took charge in the second half, however, leading by as many as 11 points en route to the win.
Anna Boyd scored 11 points and Lauren DeMille had 10 for De Pere (2-2). Olivia DeCleene did not score but had seven assists.
Dier finished with 17 points, but De Pere’s defense held Algoma standout Baleigh Delorit to just one 3-pointer, in the fourth quarter.

WRIGHTSTOWN – Kailee Van Zeeland scored 22 points and Alisha Murphy added 18 more as the Tigers picked up the impressive North Eastern Conference home win.
Wrightstown (4-0) led by 20 at halftime over L-C (1-2).
Cassie Schiltz and Alexis Dorner each scored 14 points for the Spartans.
