Luxemburg-Casco High School Receives WPS Foundation grant
Luxemburg-Casco High School is one of 22 high schools to receive an Innovative Educator Grant from the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation, the foundation announced recently.
The school was awarded the grant for its Spartan Stream Monitoring Project.
The program, now in its ninth year, awards grants for innovative teaching programs in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math. Since the program’s inception, 127 projects have received more than $117,000. These projects benefit multiple classrooms and sometimes the entire school.
The Wisconsin Public Service Foundation is funded by shareholders of the WPS, not by its electric or gas customers. This year more than $20,000 was awarded. Middle and high school educators whose school districts were within the WPC service area were encouraged to apply for up to $1,000 grants. An independent panel of judges from the energy education field selected the finalists.
