Forward Jonah Schneider of Kewaunee was named Player of the Year in the Eastern Wisconsin-Packerland Conference for the 2016 high school soccer season.

Among those joining Schneider on the first team are Storm midfielder Charles Schultz and Algoma defender Cody May.

Wolves midfielder Dillon Dean and Kewaunee defender Matthew Mastalir were voted onto the second team.

Five Wolves named to football first team

Five players from the Algoma Wolves high school football team were named to the All-Packerland Conference first team.

The Wolves who earned first-team recognition were Jared Zellner at both running back and linebacker, wide receiver Booker Prokash, offensive lineman Aiden Wallace, defensive end Casey Stangel and defensive back Zach Wery.

Stangel and Prokash also made the all-conference second team, Stangel at running back and Prokash as a defensive back.

Kewaunee Storm players were shut out of first-team honors, but quarterback Cody Bultman, running back Lincoln Barta, tight end and defensive back Michael Halada, receiver Wes Gallenberger, offensive linemen Sam LeCaptain and Tanor Bortolini, and defensive linemen Zak Niemierowicz and Brad Doperalski all were named to the second team.

Novak, Baumgartner, Guilette make volleyball first team

Kewaunee’s Hayley Novak and Brooke Geier and Courtney Guilette of Algoma were unanimous choices to the first team for All-Packerland Conference high school volleyball.

Novak’s and Geier’s teammate Abby Baumgartner also received first-team honors.

Novak was named as a setter, Geier for all-around and Baumgartner as a front row player for the conference champion Storm. Guilette was recognized at all-around.

The Wolves’ Katelyn Williams was named a second-team front row player.
