Three-ball blitz helps Spartans edge Marinette

MARINETTE – The Spartans edged out the Marines in a wild North Eastern Conference showdown.
The game featured 60 three-point attempts and just seven fouls. Marinette (3-2, 2-2) was 11-of-22 on threes while L-C (4-1, 4-0) was 14-of-38.
The win keeps the Spartans in a tie for first place in the North Eastern with Clintonville, which beat Freedom on Tuesday, 56-50.
Mitchel Jandrin hit five threes and scored 27 points for Luxemburg-Casco, while Jonathan Deprey was 6-of-7 on three-pointers and scored 19. Bryce TeKulve added 16 points.
Jake Poetzl shot 11-of-14, including four threes, and scored 28 points for Marinette. Jordan Wendt had 18 points and seven rebounds, while Connor Nelson scored 13 and Matt Wagner had 11.

DENMARK – Sophomore Brady Jens poured in a career-high 28 points as the Denmark boys basketball team rallied for a 68-59 victory over Kewaunee in a nonconference matchup.
Jens hit five three-pointers, and teammate Blake Derrick added 21 points for the Vikings (2-3).
Denmark actually trailed at halftime but outscored Kewaunee 41-20 in the second half.
Mitchell Kudick and Cody Bultman each scored 11 points and Lincoln Barta added 10 for Kewaunee (1-5), which had four players foul out.
