Peninsula Pride meets Jan. 25
A farmer-led environmental stewardship coalition in Kewaunee and southern Door counties is meeting Jan. 25.
Peninsula Pride Farms will discuss cover crops, nutrient management and manure applications. It also will discuss a safe-drinking water program and community partnerships.
Registration for the meeting begins at 9 a.m., followed by presentations at 10 a.m., lunch at noon and a business meeting at 1:15 p.m. The meeting is at JW’s Place, N5685 County E in Casco. The public may attend. To register, contact Ann Niles at [email protected] or (920) 304-0300.
Peninsula Pride was formed last year. According to the group, it has 43 dairy and crop farmers representing 40 percent of the cows and tillable acres in the region. Dairy farm herds range from 60 cows to 6,000. Other members include supportive businesses and a national environmental group.
