The Kewaunee Chamber of Commerce and Kewaunee Artisan Center are partnering to present Sip, Savor, and Support the Arts from 2 to 8 p.m. April 29.

This unique event is meant to raise awareness of the local arts community, area wineries and artisan food vendors by bringing them together at one event. A silent auction and raflle will be held and door prizes will be awarded.

Five vineyards and 10 food vendors are providing samples of their products, and wine and food will be available to purchase and take home. Attendees can design and paint a wine glass (first-come basis). Take-and-bake pizzas will be available for purchase.

Banners from last summer’s Art Walk in Kewaunee will be on display along with unique piñatas handmade by students in Kewaunee High School’s Spanish classes. Visitors can bid on items donated by local artists during the silent art auction, including original paintings by area artists; students and instructors from the Artisan Center; a Packer quarterback print; fiber art pieces; jewelry; and an antique double wedding ring quilt made from 1930s fabrics.

Additionally, the Artisan Center will raffle a handmade queen-sized quilt.

Proceeds from the auction and raffle benefit the Artisan Center, a nonprofit organization that provides fine art, fiber arts, quilting, and craft learning opportunities to the community.

Live music is provided by father/daughter duet Le Ana, playing jazz standards from 2 to 4 p.m.; the Kewaunee High School Chamber Choir, student musicians and vocalists from 4 to 5 p.m.; and the Mocking Birds with music of the 1960s through the ‘80s from 5 to 8 p.m.

Sip, Savor, and Support the Arts takes place at Lakehaven Hall, 96 Ellis St., Kewaunee. A $10 ticket provides 15 wine tasting tickets and door prize entry. Tickets are available at the door or in advance from any Chamber Board members or Bank of Luxemburg and Nicolet National bank locations.
