Kewaunee County Buy Local, a program of Kewaunee County Economic Development Corp (KCEDC), this week announced the winners of the 2017 “Best of Kewaunee County” contest.

County residents were invited to vote for their favorite business or organization in 11 different categories in this annual contest. A record-breaking number of votes were tallied recognizing numerous outstanding businesses/organizations throughout the community, according to Jennifer Brown, KCEDC executive director.

“We had nearly 17,000 votes this year,” Brown said. “It was incredibly successful. Businesses are actively engaged and want to be recognized for excellence, which is fantastic. I couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome.”

The categories and their winners are:

Best Breakfast – Dairy Dean’s Family Restaurant.

Best Lunch – Caffé Tlazo.

Best Dinner – Skaliwags.

Best Customer Service – Hotel Stebbins.

Best Retail (Clothing/Jewelry/Flowers/Gifts) – Steele Street Floral.

Best Retail (Home/Recreation) – Simonar Sports.

Best Professional Service – Aurora Pharmacy.

Best Salon or Barber – Classic Waves.

Best Auto Sales and/or Repair – Algoma Motors, Inc.

Best Charter – Hakuna Matata Charter.

Best Locally Made Product – LaFonds Fish Market.
