May Gallery holds reception for ‘Working Pots’

James May Gallery in Algoma is holding a reception for the opening of its new exhibit, “Working Pots II,” its second annual “Juried Utilitarian Ceramics Exhibition,” from 5:30 to 8 p.m. June 2.
The exhibit features functional ceramic artworks such as mugs, pots, trays, vases, bottles and stoneware. The juror is Birdie Boone, a ceramic artist from rural Virginia. Also featured are mixed-media paintings by Jennifer Wagner of Milwaukee.
“Working Pots II” is on display from June 1 to 30 at James May Gallery, 213 Steele St., Algoma. Regular gallery hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through October.
