KEWAUNEE COUNTY – Time is running short for residents who wish to make in impact in local government by running for a seat on the County Board of Supervisors, because completed candidacy nomination papers must be turned in to the
County Clerk’s office by the end of the business day Jan. 2.

The county is seeking to fill 20 seats on its Board of Supervisors in the spring
general election scheduled for April 3. Thus far, 16 residents have filed candidacy and registration papers, but only three candidates have completed and submitted nomination papers for the election.

Prospective candidates must be Kewaunee County residents ages 18 or older and U.S. citizens. They must submit nomination papers with a minimum of 20 valid signatures from residents within the candidate’s district.

District maps can be found under the “District Maps” tab on the left side of the home page at the county website, www.kewauneeco.org.

County Clerk Jamie Annoye is encouraging those interested in seeking re-election
or running for a seat on the county board to contact her office as soon as possible.

Supervisors who have registered to seek re-election as of Dec. 11 are Gerald Paape, District 1; Charles Wagner, District 3; Robert Weidner, District 4; Douglas Doell, District 8; Scott Jahnke, District 9; Mary Ellen Dobbins, District 12; Thomas Romdenne, District 14; Linda Teske, District 15; Patrick Benes, District 17; Lee Luft, District 18; John Mastalir, District 19; and Kaye Schillin, District 20

Sups. Larry Kirchman in District 2, Dennis Cravillion in District 7 and Linda Sinkula in District 11 are not seeking re-election. Challengers who have registered as of Dec. 11 are Kenneth Secor, District 7; Frank Madzarevic, District 8; and Richard Schleis and Aaron Augustian, both District 11.

The Kewaunee County Clerk’s Office is at 810 Lincoln St., Kewaunee. It is open
from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, although it will be closed Dec. 25-27 and Jan. 1 in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays.
