Private well testing available March 12 from Kewaunee County

KEWAUNEE COUNTY – The Kewaunee County Land & Water Conservation Department is offering well testing, for private wells only, to be held March 12.

Testing is limited to 150 wells on a first-come, first-served basis. Available testing packages are:

Homeowner’s Package, which tests for coliform bacteria, nitrates, chloride, pH, alkalinity, hardness, corrosive index and conductivity; cost is $52.

Metals Package, testing for arsenic, calcium, copper, iron, lead, magnesium, manganese, potassium, sulfate, sodium and zinc; $49.

and a Diaminochlorotriazine (DACT) test for atrazine and related herbicides; $30.

Well owners can order all three packages.

To sign up for testing or for more information, call 920-845-9743. Payments should be sent to Kewaunee County Land & Water Conservation Department, Well Testing, 625 Third St., Luxemburg, WI 54217.
