KEWAUNEE MEMORIAL DAY: 9 a.m., veterans assemble at American Legion Post 29, Lincoln and Juneau streets, and proceed to Atrium Post Acute Care of Kewaunee for 9:45 a.m. service. 10:15 a.m. parade with color guard, vets, bands and floats, proceeding north on Third Street to Riverview Cemetery for a rifle squad firing off Miller Street to honor deceased veterans buried there. Parade continues east on Miller, south on Second, and east on Vliet streets to the Holy Rosary Church cemetery for a firing, then to Kewaunee County Courthouse for 11 a.m. ceremony with national anthem, invocation, speaker. Wreath placement ceremony at the Veterans Memorial, with Taps. Program at Kewaunee High School gymnasium if weather is inclement. Lunch and refreshments served at Kewaunee Legion Building.
LUXEMBURG MEMORIAL DAY: 7:10-9 a.m., two squads of veterans from Luxemburg Ralph Kline American Legion Post 262 visit cemeteries in Sugar Bush, Humboldt, New Franken, Pilsen, Ellsworth, Luxemburg, Thiry Dunes, Duvall, Dyckesville, Champion, Tonet and Walhain for short ceremonies of a short prayer, rifle volley and Taps. 10 a.m., ceremony at Veterans Memorial at Bank of Luxemburg, 630 Main St., with wreath presentation, rifle squad and Taps. 10:30 a.m., program at Community Center on Second Street, light lunch and refreshments. 920-845-2436.
