Luxemburg Area Chamber of Commerce honors Jerry Simonar, Kathy Anderson, Cyndi Dart

LUXEMBURG – The Luxemburg Area Chamber of Commerce will present its annual awards for 2018 at its Black and White Christmas Party on Saturday at Northbrook Country Club. The public is invited to attend; guests are asked to wear black and white dress attire with silver and gold accessories.
This year's honorees are Jerry Simonar, Person of the Year; Kathy Anderson, Community Service Award; and Cyndi Dart, Spartan Spirit Award.
Simonar was named Person of the Year for his lifetime of developing businesses in Luxemburg and his passion for local business, which he instills in others. The "Mayor of South Luxemburg" frequently can be found working at Simonar Service and continues to devise new ideas to improve Luxemburg and surrounding communities.
Anderson is recognized for her compassion as funeral director with McMahon Funeral Home and the work she does to go above and beyond for the community in its hardest times.
Dart, who works as a study hall supervisor and office aide at Luxemburg-Casco High School, earned the Spartan Spirit Award for her work with the students under her care each year, as well as her willingness to lend a hand with school events.
The chamber's Black and White Christmas Party opens with a social hour at 6 p.m. Saturday, followed by dinner at 7, at Northbrook Country Club, 407 Northbrook Road, Luxemburg. Tickets are $25, and guests are asked to donate a book to Literacy Partners of Kewaunee County at the event; donors will be entered in a gift drawing.
