Your 2019 guide to Independence Day fireworks in Kewaunee, Algoma

Fireworks are a big part of the Independence Day celebration, and Kewaunee County residents will have two opportunities this year to view them.
Kewaunee
On July 3, the Independence Celebration will be held at Lakehaven Hall, 96 Ellis St., Kewaunee. Sponsored by the Kewaunee Area Chamber of Commerce, this event will include music, food, a parade and fireworks.
From noon to 9 p.m., Muskrat City Sportsmen will serve hamburgers, brats and hot dogs. Beginning at 4 p.m., fried cod, walleye, perch and combo plates will also be available. All proceeds will go to scholarships and educational programs.
Live music will be performed from 3 to 8:45 p.m. and kids games and face painting will be available from 3 to 9 p.m. The Veterans Parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Kewaunee Elementary School and proceed down Center Street, ending near Lakehaven Hall.
A veterans tribute will be held at 8:45 p.m. at the end of Ellis Street near Lakehaven Hall. Fireworks sponsored by Brown Fest and the chamber will follow at dusk and can be viewed from Lakehaven Hall.
Algoma
On July 4, Dave's Annual Fireworks Show will light the sky over Lake Michigan. The show will be launched at dusk from At the Water's Edge Bed and Breakfast, N7136 State 42, Algoma. This event is open to the public and will feature 45 minutes of nonstop "big stuff." In case of rain, the show will be launched on July 5.
