Steele Street Hops

ALGOMA — A new, four-part, limited-edition winter trivia league is angling to get started at Steele Street Hops, 322 Steele St., Algoma.

Methunky Trivia is a traditional paper and pen style trivia game, and competitors are encouraged to arrive early to stake their seats and come up with their creative team name. Teams are limited to eight people and use of cell phones or smartwatchs is not allowed.

On the Tuesday before each trivia contest, teams can visit Methunky on Facebook to find an article or website to read, and answers will be pulled from those readings, offering an edge to teams that plan ahead. Local history will also be "infused," according to a news release from the event's organizers.

The series runs from 7 to 9 p.m. on Jan. 23, Feb. 20, March 26 and April 30.

Prizes are provided by area businesses, including Ahnapee Brewery, Hotel Stebbins, Steele Street Hops, Target and Yardstick Books, and will go to the night's winning team, the team with the most creative name and random individual competitors.

The series was created by its hosts, Sara Krouse and Scott Prokash of Algoma. The duo will be writing all their own questions.

For more information on Methunky Trivia, including a preview of the answer sheet, find Methunky on Facebook For more information, email [email protected] or call Krouse at 920-333-1845.
