Algoma man arrested for possession of child pornography
ALGOMA – A 61-year-old man was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of child pornography.
David Lehnert is being held at the Kewaunee County Jail pending further orders from the court.
The arrest came after the Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department executed a search warrant on a residence at Seagull Apartments, 1409 Sixth St., Algoma, based on an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) tip. The tip and resulting search of the apartment led to Lehnert's arrest.
The sheriff’s department is an affiliate of the Wisconsin Department of Justice's ICAC Task Force, which works in correlation with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and Electronic Service Providers to counter the threat of offenders using the internet or other online technology to sexually exploit children.
