Kewaunee man arrested for possession of child pornography

KEWAUNEE – A 57-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, Feb. 24, on charges of possession of child pornography.
John Kay, Jr., of Kewaunee was taken into custody by the Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department and is being held at Kewaunee County Jail, according to a press release from the sheriff's department.
The release said the department obtained a search warrant based on an Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) tip that an individual was searching online for child sex abuse images. Deputies conducted the search at a residence on Kay Road in the town of Pierce which resulted in Kay's arrest.
The sheriff’s department works as an affiliate of the Wisconsin Department of Justice ICAC Task Force, which works with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and Electronic Service Providers to counter the threat of offenders using the internet or other online technologies to sexually exploit children. Regional ICAC task forces serve as sources of prevention, education and investigative expertise to provide assistance to parents, teachers, law enforcement and other professionals working on child victimization issues.
