State 54 to close in Kewaunee County between Luxemburg and Casco

LUXEMBURG – State 54 will be closed between Luxemburg and Casco next week, from Monday, May 10 to Friday, May 14, to repair the approach of a bridge that crosses the Kewaunee River, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced.
The five-mile stretch of the highway will close from County AB in Luxemburg (Main Street) to County C in Casco. The detour recommended by the DOT will have motorists eastbound on 54 head north on AB for about 3.5 miles to County K in Frog Station, then east on K to County C, then south to pick 54 back up in Casco. Eastbound drivers will use the same detour in reverse order.
Maintenance crews are scheduled to begin working on the approaches at 7 a.m. Monday and are schedule to finish by 4 p.m. Friday. The DOT urges motorists to slow down near work zones and be mindful of workers.
Maintenance schedules can change due to weather and crew manpower. For up-to-date schedules or more information, visit projects.511wi.gov/maintain-ne/schedule/.
