The new Bank of Luxemburg branch office in Howard won a Gold Award in the 2022 Projects of Distinction Awards sponsored by Associated Builders & Contractors of Wisconsin.

LUXEMBURG – The contractor for the new Bank of Luxemburg building in the Green Bay suburb of Howard is being recognized with a Gold Award for Excellence in Construction in the 2022 Projects of Distinction Awards sponsored by Associated Builders & Contractors of Wisconsin.

The award goes to Keller, Inc., a statewide commercial construction services company based in Kaukauna that worked with the bank from design to finish on the project. The Howard branch opened in 2022 and is the third of the company's nine offices to get an interactive teller machine, or ITM, essentially an ATM that offers customers live video chat with a person on the other side to conduct banking.

Ground was broken for the ground-up, 4,490-square-foot project in October 2021. Within 40 days, Keller and its subcontractors had brought in approximately 8,500 cubic yards of fill, completed all exterior and interior underground utilities, exterior concrete, asphalt binder course, building foundations and floor slab, all providing a safe, clean and easy-to-maintain site throughout winter construction.

The project also was recognized for its unique architecture, which Keller designed with a combination of masonry stone, brick, glass curtain walls and aluminum composite paneling to complement the bank's colors. The interior design features frameless interior glass, floor-to-ceiling interior windows in offices and conference rooms, and wall tile accents, including a 14-foot-high, freestanding fireplace feature with wood mantel in the front lobby. The ceilings in the upper clerestory show painted structural steel with stained tongue and groove wood planks.

The annual Projects of Distinction Awards recognize construction projects of different types and sizes that are built on merit and are judged by a panel of construction experts based on several criteria, including quality, owner satisfaction, unusual challenges and safety. Established in 1903 and based in the village of Luxemburg, Bank of Luxemburg has locations in Luxemburg, Green Bay, Dyckesville, Casco, Algoma, Kewaunee, Sturgeon Bay and Fish Creek, in addition to the Howard branch. It also has an ITM at Stodola's IGA grocery store in Luxemburg. For more information, visit bankofluxemburg.com.
