von Stiehl Winery in Algoma to launch new Winter Concert Series
ALGOMA – von Stiehl Winery plans to keep the music playing over the next four months with its first-ever Winter Concert Series, opening Jan. 28 with a show by Acoustic Endorphins.
The four-concert winter series is similar to the winery's Summer Concert Series, featuring local and regional musicians and bands taking the stage for a few hours while guests have the opportunity to sip on von Stiehl's wines and ciders and get some food as well. The main differences are that the winter concerts take place monthly instead of weekly and will be held inside the winery's production facility instead of outdoors on the patio. All take place on a Saturday afternoon and are free to attend.
The opening concert features Acoustic Endophins, a Green Bay-based guitar-and-vocals duo that can add percussion and other instruments to the mix to play their covers of classic rock, '80s and '90s hits and contemporary alt-rock and Americana by bands ranging from Avett Brothers and The Lumineers to The Killers and Black Keys.
Future concerts in the series are:
Feb. 18: Americana and folk covers and Irish tunes by local duo White Blank Page; the Steel Belly BBQ food truck will be on hand;
March 18: Lakeshore duo Koepke/LaForce Acoustic playing a variety of rock, blues, soul and more;
April 22: American Honey, with Darren Johnson and Shelly Johnson from Green Bay's Daddy D Productions playing acoustic tunes from the '50s through the '80s; the Steel Belly BBQ food truck will be on hand.
All concerts run from noon to 3 p.m. at von Stiehl Winery, 115 Navarino St., Algoma. Food or drink carry-ins are not allowed and the announced bands my be subject to change. For more information, call 920-487-5208 or visit vonstiehl.com.
