Sixth for Algoma boys, girls at conference meet

DE PERE – The Algoma High track & field teams each brought home a sixth place finish from the Packerland Conference Meet held at St. Norbert College last Saturday. The girls tallied 48 points, narrowly beating Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran’s 43, while the boys scored 37 to edge Oconto and Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran, each of whom scored 35.

Boys top finishers:

Alex Kirchman, 3200 meters, 5th place, 11:44.63 (pr).

Aiden Moen, 300-meter hurdles, 6th place. 49.04 (pr).

Brennan Buckman, Wyatt Fay, Cody Kirchman, Austin Miller, 4×100 relay, 6th place, 49.38.

Brennan Buckman, Tyler Challis, Wyatt Fay, Austin Miller, 4×400 relay, fifth place, 4:01.97.

Alex Kirchman, John Kirchman, Zack Kirchman, Chance Rader, 4×800 relay, 5th place, 10:21.26.

Cole Younk, shot put, 5th place, 40’09.25.

Austin Miller, pole vault, 4th place, 11’03.00.

Logan Borths, competing in wheelchair events, had personal best times in the 100 meter (18.46), 400 meter (1:14.37) and 800 meter events (2:42.98). Births also threw a personal best distance of 15’08.75 in the shot put.

Girls top finishers:

Emily Kirchman, shot put, 1st place, 35’10.00.

Faith Gerdmann, shot put, 4th place, 32’10.50.

Emily Kirchman, discus, 2nd place, 96’06.

Faith Gerdmann, discus, 3rd place, 92’.00.

Isabella McCosky, 100-meter hurdles, 5th place, 19.10.

Savannah Daul, Vivika Meverden, Nikki Naze, Emily Reif, 4×400 relay, 6th place, 5:22.75.

Isabella McCosky, 300-meter hurdles, 6th place, 57.57 (pr)

Emma Strandell, pole vault, 5th place, 6’06.00.
