WATERTOWN – The 16-U “Black” team from Impact Sports Academy (ISA) went 6-2 at the Class A State Tournament, held in Watertown June 22-25, to finish third against some of the state’s toughest competition.

The ISA squad was led by strong pitching from Lauren Prigge, who went 3-2 in the tourney and finished with a cumulative earned run average of 1.25.

Kate Van Ess also had a solid overall performance from the mound, posting a 2-0 record with a 1.60 ERA.

ISA clinched third place in the tournament with a 5-3 victory over the Wisconsin Outlawz, with Van Ess throwing a four-hitter with only one earned run given up.

ISA’s top hitters in the tournament were Megan Zellner (.583), Marissa Tomashek (.500), Prigge (.411) and Peyten Smith (.409).

ISA 16-U Black lost earlier in the tourney 1-0 to the Wisconsin Bandits, who eventually won the whole thing. In that game, the only score came via an error.
