KEWAUNEE – The “Giving for Sara Food & Hygiene Drive,” organized by Kewaunee County Public Health & Human Services is in its 11th year, with every donation making a difference in the local community.
Donations of non-perishable healthy foods and personal hygiene products as well as monetary funds are being collected to stock the shelves at area food pantries, as well as help community members who are in need and served by Kewaunee County.
“Those who wish to drop off non-perishable healthy foods and personal hygiene products may choose from a suggested list of items that includes: canned chicken or tuna (packed in water), canned fruit or fruit cups (packed in water or fruit juice), healthy cereal or granola bars as well as shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, deodorant, and soap. Please check the ‘Best Used By’ dates; expired items cannot be accepted,” a program released stated.
“Monetary donations should be mailed and made payable via check to Kewaunee County with a memo of ‘Giving for Sara Food & Hygiene Drive.’ Receipts will be available.”
Donations will be accepted from Nov. 27 to Dec. 31 at the Kewaunee County Health & Human Services building, 810 Lincoln St., Kewaunee, WI, 54216.
“This effort is in memory of Sara Malay who unexpectedly passed away in October 2013, while serving as the Aging Services Unit Director for Kewaunee County,” the release added.
