LUXEMBURG - A 92-year-old man died Wednesday because of complications from an April 8 crash, according to the Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department.
Roland DeCremer of Luxemburg died six days after the SUV he was driving was involved in a three-vehicle crash at State 54 and County Line Road in the town of Luxemburg that closed the highway to traffic between County Line and Walhain Road for about two hours.
The sheriff's department responded to a call for the crash at about 11:06 a.m. April 8. Authorities initially determined that DeCremer was turning east onto State 54 from County Line in a 2018 Ford Escape but failed to yield to an eastbound 2015 semi truck.
DeCremer’s vehicle hit the side of the truck, then was hit by a 2007 Buick Rendezvous SUV that was westbound on 54.
DeCremer and a passenger in his vehicle, Irene DeCremer, were trapped in their vehicle. They were freed by Luxemburg Fire and Rescue personnel and transported by Luxemburg Rescue to a medical facility in Green Bay.
The sheriff’s department is continuing to investigate the crash. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
