Sara Krouse has been named the new executive director for the Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce.

Krouse has a bachelor's degree from Carthage College and a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in library and information science.   She grew up in Green Bay and moved to Algoma a year and a half ago from Oshkosh. She has a background focusing on community libraries.

"There is a pulse of excitement about things in Algoma – Soar on the Shore, Shanty Days and development the Main Street District and the arts," said Krouse.   "The culture of the water and fishing is also appealing."

John Price, Chamber president, said Krouse is looking forward to meeting all the chamber members and learning how she can best serve the businesses in Algoma and the surrounding communities.

"Sara grew up in Northeast Wisconsin and is passionate about the Algoma area," said Price.

Her official start date was July 5.
