Algoma Public Library announces September events and upgraded catalog system

Posted

ALGOMA – The Algoma Public Library has released its full schedule for September 2026, highlighting a mix of community events, technology updates and special celebrations.
National Library Card Sign Up Month

September is National Library Card Sign Up Month. To celebrate, the library is hosting a raffle drawing. Patrons who sign up for a new library card, renew an existing card or simply stop by to update their contact information will be automatically entered for a chance to win.

A new chapter for InfoSoup

The library has officially launched its new InfoSoup catalog system. The upgraded platform is designed to make it easier for community members to search for books, movies and audiobooks, access digital library cards and manage accounts. A corresponding InfoSoup mobile app is also available.

To help residents navigate the updated system, the library will host a “Tech Thursday: New Infosoup” session on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 11:30 a.m.
