The Kewaunee Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking artists to paint banners for its second annual Kewaunee Art Walk this summer.
The chamber debuted the Art Walk last summer to provide an outdoor, community showcase gallery. Artists accepted for the project each handpainted a banner on both sides, and the completed banners were hung on display in downtown Kewaunee.
As many as 30 banners will be exhibited this summer. The chamber is providing the banners, which are 18 inches wide by 36 long and must be painted with acrylics.
Artists who wish to participate must apply via email by Feb. 25 with their full names and addresses, phone or cell numbers, media in which they usually work, and two photos of samples of their art with the years they were created. Those who painted banners for last year’s project do not need to submit art samples.
Applicants who are accepted will receive information on where to pick up banners and the forms they will need to complete. Painted banners must be brought to the chamber office by June 12.
The Art Walk will be on display from late June through mid-October. The banners will be judged July 3, with awards for first through third places and a People’s Choice Award based on public voting.
To apply, email KewauneeArtWalk@gmail.com. For more information, email or call 920-388-4822.
