Authorities identify Kewaunee man killed in house fire in town of Franklin

FRANKLIN – Authorities on Monday identified the man killed in a house fire last week in Kewaunee County as Stephen Voelker.

Voelker, 71, of Kewaunee died Friday on Wochos Road in the town of Franklin, according to the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department.

Fire crews responded around 1 a.m. on Feb. 28 to find a single-family home fully engulfed in flames. Officials said firefighters found Voelker’s body around 11:30 a.m.

Wisconsin State Fire Marshal is investigating the fire.
