Best of Kewaunee awards announced by KCEDC

The Kewaunee County Buy Local,  a program of Kewaunee County Economic Development Corp (KCEDC), last week announced the winners of the 2016 “Best of Kewaunee County" contest in which residents are invited to vote for their favorite business or organization in 11 different categories.

A record breaking number of votes were tallied in the month of April recognizing numerous outstanding businesses/organizations throughout the local community, according to Jennifer Brown, KCEDC executive director.

"Customers particularly wanted to celebrate the following top-notch businesses/organizations for their significant role in making Kewaunee County great," Brown said. "I hope people will, personally visit and congratulate these Kewaunee County establishments and encourage them to share their success and continue their high-quality work."

The winner are:

Best Breakfast – Dairy Dean’s
Best Lunch – Algoma Pizza Bowl
Best Dinner – Skaliwags
Best Customer Service – Hotel Stebbins
Best Retail (clothing, jewelry, gifts) – Shopko Hometown
Best Retail (home & recreation) – McMahon’s Furniture
Best Professional Service – FirstMerit Bank
Best Salon or Barber – Classic Waves
Best Auto Sales and/or Repair – Algoma Motors Inc.
Best Charter – Fishin’ Magician Charter
Best Community Involvement – American Legion
