KEWAUNEE COUNTY – Micaela Boucher, 19, of Kewaunee County, was recently named the 2023 National American Miss (NAM) Wisconsin.

The National American Miss program focuses on “growing confidence.”

Participants are judged on: personal introduction, interview skills, formal wear and community service.

Boucher has been competing in the program since she was 11.

“This year she aged up to the Miss Division and was the youngest in this division, the age category is 19-25 years old,” Micaela’s mother, Debra explained.

“Her format is empowering young ladies to be comfortable in the skin they are in and creating a size inclusive clothing boutique.”

Micaela is the daughter of Debra and Mike Boucher.

“Her first appearance was the Shanty Day’s parade.  It was so heartwarming to watch all of the children come up to her, wanting their picture with her, one little girl even walked up and hugged Micaela’s leg, precious.  She will be making many appearances throughout her year-long reign empowering all young people to be themselves and instill confidence in themselves,” Debra added.

Micaela is a sophomore at UW-Green Bay majoring marketing and advertising, with a minor in entrepreneurship, where is has been named to the dean’s list.

National competition will take place Nov. 17-26 in Orlando, Fla.
