MADISON – All 10 Luxemburg-Casco wrestlers competing in the state tournament last weekend finished in the top six overall, making it another hugely successful season for the Spartans’ program. L-C had two state finalists Saturday night at the Kohl Center in Madison.

138-pound Caleb Delebreau, seeded fifth in his weight class, beat the fourth seed, the first seed, and in the finals beat second seeded Cole Bozile of Oconto Falls for the fourth time this season 3-2 to win the championship.

150 pound Max Ronsman made the finals for the fourth year in row, coming up just short in a 6-1 loss to now three-time state champ Danny Heiser of Evansville.

Also placing for L-C was Carson Neubert in 3rd place at 120 pounds, Carson Blohowiak fourth place at 113 pounds, Blakelee Bastien fifth place at 132 pounds. Michael Bostwick 126 pounds and Trace Schoenebeck, 190 pounds, finished in sixth place after sustaining an injury.

106-pound Jake Jandrin and 144-pound Isaac Jerabek also took sixth place.

Kiley Georgel, the school’s first-ever female competitor to go to the state tournament, finished fourth at 235-pounds.

The Spartans won the unofficial team score battle with 100.5 points followed by Dodgeville with 90 points.

L-C will defend their State championship on March second at 10:00 a.m. at the old field house in Madison vs. Kewaskum in the semi-finals.

St. Croix Falls will wrestle Prairie du Chien in the other semi-final.

Kewaunee trio compete in D3

MADISON – Kewaunee grapplers Mitchell Boeder and Kemper Robinson, wrestling at 285 and 190 pounds respectively, were both one match away from placing in the Division 3 bracket as both won their play-in matches on the opening day of the tournament before falling out of contention on Friday, Feb. 23.

At 157 pounds, Mitchell VanGoethem was knocked out of contention with a loss on Thursday.
