Dennis Michael Bell, Sr.
June 5, 1941 - September 20, 2025 Of Milwaukee, WI passed away on September 20, 2025, at the age of 84.
Dennis was born on June 5, 1941 in Chicago, IL to Robert and Lucille Bell. Dennis grew up in Wilmette, Illinois with siblings Bob, Steve, Peter, Sue, Dorothy and Mary. Dennis attended high school at Campion Jesuit in Prairie du Chien, WI.
After graduating from Campion in 1959, Dennis attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI where he graduated in 1963 with a BA in History.
While attending Marquette, Dennis developed a strong bond with group of friends who called themselves the “Rummies”. Today, many years later, the relationships still live on!
In 1963, Dennis began a long and successful career working in the flexible packaging industry for companies such as Mobil Chemical, Rexham Flexible Packaging and Rotogravure Packaging. The Italian Village in downtown Chicago was a regular stop for Dennis and his pals who worked in sales. Several deals and memories were made at “The Village”.
In the early 80’s, Dennis joined Wisconsin Label in Algoma, WI as a salesman. Owners Ray Fulwiler and Paige Knipfer gave Dennis a chance to find purchase orders with an unlimited and wide-open territory across the U.S. Within a few years, several large companies signed on to become customers of “The Label” in the town that is always, “Cooler by the Lake”. In the 90’s, Dennis was given the title of President after the company achieved significant growth and success. Dennis was extremely grateful for all of the employees at WI Label which later became WS Packaging. Dennis loved Wisconsin Label.
Some of Dennis's passions included driving several types of very fast automobiles that often would show up without notice in the driveway to the chagrin of his wife Kathleen. Some of Dennis's interests included performing card tricks, telling jokes, cooking (Chef Pop Pop) and playing golf at Bonita Bay Club in SW Florida.
Being a lifelong Chicago Bears fan, especially the 1985 Super Bowl Championship team created special attention as Dennis lived and worked for many years in “Green Bay Packer territory”. Also, Dennis absolutely loved the Marquette Warriors (never, the Golden Eagles!!!), especially the 1977 National Championship team that was led by Hall of Fame coach, Al McGuire.
Above all, Dennis cherished his family. He shared 43 remarkable years of marriage with the love of his life, Kathleen. After meeting on a blind date in 1982, they quickly realized that a spending life together would become a reality. Blending both families together, Dennis and Mac built a life in Wauwatosa, Elm Grove, Siesta Key (FL) Bonita Springs (FL), the condo on Lake Michigan in Shorewood and finally, Eastcastle Place in Milwaukee.
Dennis was a loving father to five children: Dennis (Stacy) Bell, Jr., Amy Holtorf (Deceased), Stefanie (Scott) Haglund, Kristin (Shawn) Colberg, Allyson (Mario) Fregoso, and 10 grandchildren. Further survived by other loving relatives and friends.
A special thank you goes out to caregiver Maria Cardosa (and her team) who helped Dennis in his final months.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, November 8 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at Saz’s State House in Milwaukee, WI. For details, please call Dennis Jr. at 612-300-2007 or
