Easter egg hunts, Easter events for children in Kewaunee County

Posted

KEWAUNEE COUNTY - Remember "The Hunt for Red October?" Well, now it's The Hunt for Colorful March.

Easter eggs

With Easter just over a week away, it's time for children (and their parents and caregivers) to break out the baskets, and maybe eat a few more carrots to sharpen their vision, as they search for brightly-colored, plastic orbs across the county. Plus, it's time to take photos with a long-eared, bucktoothed mammal standing 6-foot tall or more on its hind legs.

Easter egg hunts and Easter-related children's events are taking place all over Kewaunee County during the next week. Here's your guide to them.

► Kewaunee Heritage Farm holds its second annual Easter Eggstravaganza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

Young ones can meet the Easter Bunny and get photos with him from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (bring your own camera). A craft and vendor show will be held, and vendors will have goodies for children, so bring the Easter baskets. Food will be available for purchase.

Kewaunee Heritage Farm is at N2251 State 42. For more information, call 920-388-0604 or go to www.facebook.com/heritagefarmkewaunee.

► Also Sunday in Kewaunee, Atrium Post Acute Care will host its annual Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. Children up to age 10 can hunt down the eggs and win prizes; cookies and refreshments will be served.

Atrium Post Acute Care is at 1308 Lincoln St., Kewaunee. For more information, call 920-388-4111.

► The nooks, crannies and shelves of the Algoma Public Library will provide cover for eggs as it holds an Easter Egg Hunt from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Hunters can find eggs hidden in the library that contain prizes. After finding five eggs, kids can play a game, color and listen to Easter stories.

Algoma Public Library is at 406 Fremont St. For more information, call 920-487-2295 or go to www.algomapubliclibrary.org.
