ALGOMA – The Kewaunee County Wisconsin Farm Technology Days Executive Committee recently announced its sixth group of students receiving funds from the Second Half Scholarship Fund.
The scholarships are awarded to any student beyond the first half of post-secondary education, in their third or fourth year of college, the second year of a two-year program or in the second half of a post-secondary program.
Those awarded have graduated from area high schools, including Algoma, Denmark, Kewaunee, Luxemburg-Casco, Mishicot and Southern Door.
Students needed to meet specific requirements to apply and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
Denmark
Gwen Albers, a graduate of Denmark High School, attending the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and double majoring in International business and marketing analysis with a Chinese certificate.
Lexy Nowak, a graduate of Denmark High School, attending the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and majoring in animal science.
Kewaunee
Grace Wisnicky, a graduate of Kewaunee High School, attending UW-Eau Claire, studying behavioral sciences.
Luxemburg-Casco
Megan Salentine, a graduate of Luxemburg-Casco High School, attending St. Norbert College, and majoring in elementary education.
Luke VanDonsel, a graduate of Luxemburg-Casco High School, attending UW-Platteville, double majoring in ecological restoration, and crop and soil science.
Abby Heim, a graduate of Luxemburg-Casco High School, attending Marian College and majoring in nursing.
Nathan Naze, a graduate of Luxemburg- Casco High School, attending UW-Green Bay majoring in math and minoring in education.
A total of $7,000 was awarded in 2024, and a total of $60,000 will be awarded over a 10-year period
