CASCO - The driver who was killed in a one-car crash Saturday night in the Town of Casco was identified Tuesday by the Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department.
Thomas P. Geldmeyer, 54, of Forestville, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet SUV westbound on State 54 near South View Lane when the vehicle hit an icy patch of the road at about 7 p.m., according to the sheriff's department. Geldmeyer lost control of the SUV, which crossed the road and went into a ditch, rolling numerous times and ejecting him from the vehicle.
Geldmeyer was transported by Luxemburg Rescue to a Green Bay hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
A 55-year-old woman, Mary Geldmeyer, also from Forestville, was a passenger in the SUV during the crash. She was trapped in the vehicle, extricated by the Luxemburg Fire Department and also transported to a Green Bay hospital. The sheriff's department said Saturday the woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries but her current condition and relationship to Thomas Geldmeyer were not available as of Tuesday.
The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
