Gayla M. Wagner, 76, Maplewood, passed away, Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Froedtert Hospital South in Pleasant Prairie, WI. She was born December 26, 1949 in Paducah, Kentucky. She was raised by her mother Gladys (Peters) and step dad Leo Veeser.
As a young girl the family moved to the Kewaunee County area.
Gayla met and married Peter Wagner on September 18, 1982, in Door County.
She worked as a certified nurses assistant at the Algoma Nursing home before moving up to the Activities Director. She did that for a number of years, before her health made her retire.
Gayla loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, going to casinos and cooking for family and friends.
She is survived by her husband Peter, five children April (Tom) Grosbeier, Scott Servaes, Brian (Jessica) Servaes, Jenelle Christen and Krista (Matt) Hau; nine grandchildren Nic (Betsy) Grosbeier, Nevin (Emma) Grosbeier, Abbi Grosbeier, Morgan Servaes, Ali Servaes (Jacob), Karli Servaes, Lacey (Markus) Gudel and Landen Christen; several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gladys and Leo Veeser, one grandson Nate Grosbeier, two brothers Wyman and Kevin Wade and her mother-in-law Joan Wagner.
There will be a private family Celebration of Life for Gayla at the funeral home.
The family wants to thank the staff at Froedtert Hospital South in Pleasant Prairie for all their efforts and care given to Gayla and her family.
