‘Giving for Sara Food & Hygiene Drive’ in 12th year

Posted

KEWAUNEE – The “Giving for Sara Food & Hygiene Drive,” organized by Kewaunee County Public Health & Human Services, is in its 12th year — created in memory of Sara Malay who unexpectedly passed away in October 2013 while serving as the Aging Services Unit Director for Kewaunee County.

Donations of non-perishable healthy foods and personal hygiene products as well as monetary funds are being collected to stock the shelves at area food pantries, as well as help community members who are in need and served by Kewaunee County.

Those who wish to drop off non-perishable healthy foods and personal hygiene products may choose from a suggested list that includes canned chicken or tuna (packed in water), canned fruit or fruit cups (packed in water or fruit juice), healthy cereal or granola bars, shampoo, conditioner, diapers, baby wipes, deodorant and soap.

Expired items will not be taken.

Monetary donations will also be accepted and should be mailed to: “Kewaunee County” with a memo of “Giving for Sara Food & Hygiene Drive.”

Donations will be accepted until Dec. 31 at Kewaunee County Health & Human Services, 810 Lincoln St., Kewaunee.

For more information, contact the Kewaunee County Public Health Department at (920) 388-7160.
