The Zoological Society of Kewaunee County is holding its annual Zoupart soup buffet, art show and fundraiser for Bruemmer Park Zoo on Feb. 26 at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds.
The event is a benefit for the current project to rebuild the bobcat enclosure at the zoo, just outside Kewaunee. David Myers, director of the Kewaunee County Promotions & Recreation Department, said the plan is to update or rebuild at least one animal enclosure at the zoo each year.
Guests to Zoupart will be able to choose a handmade ceramic bowl and use it to sample a wide variety of soups provided by local restaurants, then take the dish home. Also part of the event are an art show by students from the county’s three high schools and pottery demonstrations. Raffles will be held.
The menu has Smoked Pork Green Chili Verde from ZoZo's Kitchen, Chicken Dumpling by Rose's Family Restaurant, Cream of Potato and Ham from Northbrook Country Club, Taco Soup by the Rendezvous and Tippy Canoe's Bar & Grill, Chili by Stodola's IGA and Piggly Wiggly, Chicken Noodle Soup by Krazy Cow, Cheesy Bratwurst Soup from Janda's Bar & Grill, North Water Bakery & Deli’s Creamy Wild Rice and Mushroom, Hamburger Cabbage Soup from Kunkel's Korner, Chicken Booyah by Why-Lee's Bar & Grill, the Hotel Stebbins’ Popcorn Soup, and Loaded Baked Potato Soup by Gib's on the Lake.
Zoupart runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds, 625 Third St., Luxemburg. Admission is $10 and includes the bowl and soup; all proceeds go to Bruemmer Park Zoo.
