KCEDC names interim director, retains Chaudoir as consultant

LUXEMBURG - The Kewaunee County Economic Development Corp. (KCEDC) announced Tuesday it has named board member Kim Larson as its interim executive director and retained Bill Chaudoir as a consultant.

Larson has been part of the organization's executive committee over the last year, serving as recording secretary.  As interim director, her primary focus will be to lead the board's search for a permanent executive director. 

Larson and her husband, Paul Marvine, in 1989 founded Larson-Marvine, a company that works with a wide range of businesses to launch new initiatives and help them grow through branding and marketing campaigns; she continues to serve as its CEO.

Prior to launching Larson-Marvine, she was director of design for WLS-TV in Chicago. Larson also has worked with many not-for-profit organizations and local government organizations.

After vacationing in the area for more than 30 years, Larson and Marvine decided to move their business here two years ago. They and their family live on a family farm just north of Algoma. Her family worked to launch the Barnsite Retreat and Events Center in Kewaunee and Clay on Steele community art center in Algoma.

Chaudoir will work with the KCEDC to hire a new executive director and develop long-term strategies.

Chaudoir was executive director of Door County Economic Development Corporation from its founding in 1989 until he retired at the end of 2016. His history with that organization pre-dates its founding, as he served as a staff advisor to the Economic Development Taskforce of the Door County Board of Supervisors while an employee with the county Planning and Zoning Department. Chaudoir has family ties to Kewaunee County.
