Kewaunee County Board held last meeting of 2025

KEWAUNEE COUNTY – At the Dec. 16 Kewaunee County Board of Supervisors meeting, the board made adjustments in order to balance the 2025 budget.

While the overall Sheriff’s Department and Human Services Department expenditures in 2025 remained within budget constraints, individual budget line items experienced a combination of budget surpluses and budget shortages. The Public Health Department received $22,276 in additional revenue from grant funding and related expenditure of $22,526 resulting in a
nominal budget increase of $250 paid from fund balance as a required match.

In order to balance the 2025 budget, the board authorized budget adjustments for the Sheriff’s Department, Public Health Department and Human Services Department.

Changes were made in the 2025 Sheriff’s Department budget in the amount of $137,500, the 2025 Human Services Department budget in the amount of $205,000 and the Public Health Department 2025 Budget in the amount of $22,526.

Appointments were also made for the 2026-28 terms of other county committees.

As of Jan. 1 and through Dec. 31, 2028, citizens Julie Janicsek and Donna Wallace have been appointed to the Human Services Board.

As of Jan. 5 and through Jan. 3, 2028, Marty Treml has been reappointed to his position as Kewaunee County Highway Commissioner.

As of Jan. 1 and through Dec. 31, 2028, Sandi Schleis-Ulmen has been appointed to the Aging and Disability Resource Center via the ADRC agreement between Manitowoc and Kewaunee counties.

The following people were appointed to the Coordinated Service Teams

Advisory Committee as of Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2028:

Child Welfare Representative Chad LaLuzerne, Mental Health Representative Susan Norton, Developmental Disabilities Representative Corinne Konkol, Representative Appointed by the Judge David DePeau, Largest School District Representative Jane Mathus, Law Enforcement Representative Matt Joski, Economic Support Representative James Slowinski and CST Consumer Representative Andrea Zunker.

The following people were appointed to the Children’s Community Options Program (COP) and B-3 Advisory Committee as of Jan. 1 and through Dec. 31, 2028:

Parent/Consumers Sara Funk, Venssa Kudick and Sandy Smidle; Public Health Advisor Cindy Kinnard, Kewaunee School liaisons Kacy Rohr and Sandy Morton; Luxemburg-Casco School liaisons Katie Ludolph and Jane Mathes; Algoma School liaison Maire Ott, Paragon/Parent Courtney Augustine and Human Services Officers Corinne Konkol, Tina Paral and Melissa Annoye.

The following people were appointed to the Transportation Committee as of Jan. 1 and through Dec. 31, 2028:

Elderly and Disabled Advocate Jodi Vandervest; Public Health Officer Cindy Kinnard; County ADRC Representative Wendy Hutterer; Human Services Officers Corinne Konkol and Melissa Annoye; Transportation Providers Laurie Bouche, Mary Ann Breitlow, Kim Gilson, Tracy Nelson and Jean Robinson; Veteran’s Affairs Officer Nathan Thomas, Sheriff’s Department liaison Matt Joski; Emergency Management Officer Tracy Nollenberg and consumers Dan Giannotti and Shelly Karnopp.
