The Kewaunee County Clerk’s office completed its recount of the presidential election ballots Tuesday with only 11 changes to the overall total.
The historical recount began Dec. 1 and concluded at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Clerk Jamie Annoye said.
The recount was done by hand and with the help of machines, Annoye said. Random samplings were counted by hand to confirm the numbers came out the same.
There were 11 vote changes total.
President-elect Donald Trump's vote total changed from 6,616 to 6,618. Hillary Clinton changed from 3,623 to 3,627. Jill Stein, who called for and is paying for the recall, didn't change with 79 votes.
“It was all human error” that caused the changes in totals, Annoye said. The errors occurred only on absentee ballots.
Thirteen people helped with the recount over the four days and earned $60 a day if they worked five or more hours and $40 for under five hours. Those assisting also received mileage reimbursement.
