LUXEMBURG - Following confirmation of the write-in vote from the April 5 election, Brian Patrycia will be the new supervisor representing District 5 on the Kewaunee County Board.
A write-in vote for the district was necessary because no one filed nomination papers to run for the seat. The incumbent, Matthew Piesler, had filed papers saying he wouldn't seek reelection.
Patrycia received 11 of 22 votes cast for the District 5 seat, which represents Wards 4 and 5 in the Village of Luxemburg. According to the county clerk's office, no other candidate received more than two votes.
Another write-in vote was needed to determine the next representative for the seat representing the unincorporated area in the Kewaunee School Board, where no one filed nomination papers. Results were not made available to the Star-News as of press time.
