Memorial Day
Algoma events: 10 a.m., American Legion parade beginning at Algoma City Hall, 416 Fremont St., Algoma. Parade route goes up Fourth Street to Steele Street to Second Street and ends at Legion Park with a special ceremony.
Kewaunee events: 9 a.m., veterans will gather at Post 29 American Legion building, intersection of Lincoln and Juneau at 9 a.m.and proceed to the Atrium Post Acute Care of Kewaunee, 1308 Lincoln St. for a memorial service at 9:45 a.m.The parade will begin at Kewaunee High School at 10:15 a.m. and proceed to Riverview Cemetery for a firing off and then to Holy Rosary Church cemetery for a second firing off, and then to the Kewaunee County Courthouse for an 11 a.m. ceremony.
Luxemburg events: 6:45 a.m, American Legion Post 262 will have two squads visiting area cemeteries. At 10 a.m. the squads will meet for a wreath-laying ceremony at the Bank of Luxemburg Veterans Memorial. 630 Main St., Afterward, the public is invited to the Luxemburg Community Center, 206 Maple St., for a presentation by Jerry Simonar on his service during the Korean War. Lunch and refreshments will follow the presentation.
