Friday, Sept. 16

Farmer's Market: opens 8 a.m., Clock Corner Pavilion, corner of Milwaukee and Miller streets, Kewaunee.

Story hour: 10 a.m., Algoma Public Library, 406 Fremont St. Algoma. For children ages 3-6 years old. 920-487-2295

Preschool Story Time: 10:30 a.m., Kewaunee Public Library, 822 Juneau St., Kewaunee.

Wet Whistle Wine Fest: 4-8 p.m., Legion Park, Lake Street, Algoma. Annie Rose Band, specialty foods. Fundraiser for the Community Improvement of Algoma, Algoma Fire and Rescue. Free admission, but canned food donations for Kewaunee County Food Pantry are welcome. All weekend, children under 12 free; under 21 must be accompanied by an adult.

One Day Half Price Rummage Sale: 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Kewaunee County Food Pantry, 1528 Sunset Ave.  Algoma. Some exclusions.

Saturday, Sept. 17

Gregorville Area Rummage Sale:  7 a.m. -3 p.m., County S, seven miles west of Algoma. Six homes, over 20 families,  no presales.

Brat fry and booyah: 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Stodola's IGA, 602 Center Drive, Luxemburg. Served by the Luxemburg-Casco Dance Team.
All money raised will help with dance competition entry fees.

Used book sale: 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at our new location, 1325 Ellis St., Kewaunee. This week's special: half price on all non-fiction. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Kewaunee County Farmer's Market: 10 a.m.-3 p.m., The Flying Pig, N6945 Wisconsin 42, Algoma.   Local food and farm products, fruits, produce, fresh eggs, baked bread, jams, jellies and canned goods. REN Grill serves organic burgers and brats.

Monday, Sept. 19

Algoma School District Finance Committee: 5 p.m., 1715 Division St., Algoma. Financial Impact of increasing enrollment, state aid, new hires for 2016-17, budget review.

Gentle Plus Senior Exercise: 9-10 a.m., St John’s Lutheran Church, 700 Heritage Road, Luxemburg, Mondays and Wednesdays through Nov. 2. The fun class where you don’t even realize your exercising. No set fees; donations are welcomed. Any questions call Diane 609-2765.

Read with Trooper: 4-5 p.m., ALgoma Public Library, 406 Fremont St., Algoma. R.E.A.D. uses registered therapy animals that have been trained and tested for health, safety, appropriate skills and temperament. The animals are ideal reading companions because they listen attentively, do not judge, laugh, or criticize. Parents and children are encouraged to meet Trooper and read to him.

23rd annual Agricultural Heritage Days: 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Kewaunee County Fairgrounds, Luxemburg. Demonstrations, grandstand events, music, petting zoo, treasure hunt, tractor show, antique cars, cookstove food, steam engine wagon rides. Adults $5, 12-16 years $1, under 12 free, two-day pass $8. Antique tractor pull at noon. Sponsored by Agricultural Heritage & Resources Inc. www.agriculturalheritage.org.

15th annual Harvest Event: 10 a.m.-3 p.m., St. John Lutheran Church, 700 Heritage Road, Luxemburg. 11 a.m. pork dinner with all the trimmings will be served, $9 per plate. Pie baking contest; bring in your homemade pie by 9 a.m. to be entered, pies must remain to be sold with meal. Bucket raffle, silent auction, crafts and vendors, kids activities, cake walk, bake and canned goods sale, and horse-drawn wagon rides. A portion of proceeds will be donated to community programs. Special raffle for an Aaron Rogers MVP picture worth $500, and a 50/50 raffle to benefit Steve Hanmann, a parish member who is fighting cancer. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

A Good Old Fashioned 5K/10K Run: 9 a.m., Outback Tavern, E2696 Krok Road, Krok. Race packet includes bib, T-shirt, old fashioneds, booyah. Proceeds benefit the Kewaunee all-inclusive playground. $20 per person/$30 family (920) 388-4109.
