• Welcome: Officer Scott Szydel is now the school resource officer for the Kewaunee School District. Officer Szydel has been with the Kewaunee Police Department for 17 years.

He is the department’s training officer and an Assistant Team Leader with the Kewaunee County SWAT Team. Officer Szydel is also a member of the Kewaunee Fire Department, where he is active in teaching students fire prevention.

A Kickoff Tailgate Party is planned this Sunday at the Kewaunee County Farmers Market. In addition to farm-fresh products from local farmers, there will be music by Katrina and Mike until kickoff, free popcorn during the game, and a $5 Bloody Mary Bar. Yard games will be available all day as will brats and burgers from Otto’s Meat Market. The market is open 10 a.m. Sundays at the Flying Pig, N6975 Wisconsin 42, Algoma.

• • Adult influenza vaccine: The Kewaunee County Public Health Department will be offering the influenza vaccine at the following sites:

Sept. 14, 10-11:30 a.m. St. John’s Luxemburg (700 Heritage Road); Sept. 20, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Casco Community Housing (201 Wiesner Ave.); Oct. 3 10-11:15 a.m. St. Louis Church, Dyckesville (N8710 County Line Road) and 1-3 p.m. Algoma Grandview Terrace Apartments (145 Grandview Court); and Oct. 5 1-3 p.m., Kewaunee County Public Health Department (810 Lincoln St.).

The price of the vaccine is $30, and they will accept Medicare Part B Insurance or cash/check. Contact Kewaunee County Public Health Department at (920) 388-7160 for more information.

• Davidson Law Office and The Estate Planning Group will be hosting a free educational program at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 24 at Kewaunee Public Library, 822 Juneau St.

• Bingo is back: Monday, Sept. 12 is the date for the first session of the All Saints Bingo 2016/2017 Season.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., bingo begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. All Saints Parish Activity Center is located at 125 N. St. Claude St., Denmark. The 2016-17 schedule is every Monday from Sept. 12 to Dec. 12 (except Halloween and Thanksgiving week), and from Jan. 9 to April 24.

Correction: Last week we told you that Luxemburg-Casco Scholarships Inc. holds its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, but they told us the wrong location: It’ll be at L-C Intermediate School, 318 N. Main St., Luxemburg.
