LUXEMBURG - Kewaunee County residents may hear emergency sirens in the next two weeks as Point Beach Nuclear Plant will perform maintenance on a number of sirens that are in Kewaunee and Manitowoc counties, within 10 miles of the plant in Two Rivers.

Between Sept. 3 and 14, residents in these areas may hear siren activations for approximately one to three minutes and notice activity at and around the siren sites.

Performance of this routine maintenance helps ensure that sirens in the county work well, should they need to be activated.

During the time of the testing, if individuals have concerns or are unsure if the activities and siren soundings may be related to the maintenance, call Kewaunee County Emergency Management at 920-845-9700 or 920-388-3100.

In the event of an actual emergency, dial 911.
