Kewaunee County to host National Weather Service severe weather spotting class

LUXEMBURG - Kewaunee County Emergency Management will host a severe weather spotter training class provided by the National Weather Service office in Green Bay.

The class will take place at 6 p.m. March 27. at the Kewaunee County Emergency Operations Center at 625 Third St., Luxemburg (at the Kewaunee County Fairgrounds).

The class will provide information on identifying storm features, effective positioning strategy, safety, and severe weather communication. It is expected to run about 90 minutes

There is no age requirement, but spotters who report weather to National Weather Service should be 15 years old or older. Participants do not need to become a weather spotterto attend this class.

There is no cost to attend, but reservations are required by March 19. To reserve a spot or for more information, call Kewaunee County Emergency Management at 920-845-9700.
