Local athletes wrap up track and field season at state

LA CROSSE – Last weekend’s action at the state meet in La Crosse marked the end of the 2023 season for local track and field athletes. Here’s how everyone did.

Algoma senior Logan Borths brought home a gold medal in the 100-meter dash wheelchair event with a time of 17.61 and a silver in the 400 with a time of 1:06.50, behind Gianni Quintero, a speedy freshman from Marquette.

Borthsn turned in a time of 4:46.69 to take second in the 1600-meter event and he also finished sixth in the shot put with a toss of 15’06.75.

Kewaunee’s Hannah Miller, competing in Division 2, took fifth in the triple jump with a personal-best distance of 36.

George Herlache of Luxemburg-Casco finished sixth in the Division 2 pole vault after he cleared 13’06.

Maddix Mueller of Kewaunee cleared 6’00 and finished 14th in the high jump while teammate Kemper Robinson took 13th for the Storm in the discus with a toss of 140’07.
