KEWAUNEE COUNTY – Church members from St. Thomas the Apostle, St. Killian, St. Joseph and St. Louis Catholic gathered at St. Thomas the Apostle on Aug. 17 to celebrate a mission trip to New Jersey, where participants spent 10 days in North Haledon at the end of July before returning home.
A total of about 300 people went on the trip — both teens and adults — more than a dozen of whom were locals.
At the celebration, the adults and youth shared the details of their trip and the positive impact they had on the community, as well as the impact the trip had on them.
While in N.J., the participants listened to speakers, helped in a soup kitchen and nursing home and performed other needed services in the community.
The trip was made possible by Knights of Columbus, Catholic Foundation of Green Bay, private donors and fundraisers selling pizza and candy bars.
