Mary Ann Mae (Olson) Guilette, 81, Algoma, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay, WI. Mary Ann was born on February 6, 1945, in Algoma, WI, to Clarence and Mae (Karnitz) Olson.
Mary Ann grew up on a small farm in Kohlberg with her parents and brothers Duane and Donnie. It was filled with the simple joys and adventures that would become cherished memories throughout her life. She attended Tornado Grade School in Brussels.
During her teenage years, Mary Ann was a cheerleader, took part in musicals and plays, and sang in the chorus. She enjoyed roller skating, cruising around Algoma with friends, and stopping at the soda shop for a malt. Mary Ann especially enjoyed evenings out with the girls at places like Wally’s Dance Palace, where fate would introduce her to the love of her life, Glenn Guilette.
After graduating from the first graduating class of Southern Door High School in 1963, Mary Ann and Glenn were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Algoma on February 23, 1963. Together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, adventure, and family. Mary Ann was the bookkeeper for Guilette Electric for the entire time they had the business. They proudly raised their three children, Loni, Chris, & Michael, tucked away in the countryside where they built the home of their dreams. Through 54 years of marriage, Mary Ann and Glenn remained devoted companions, sharing countless memories, family milestones, travels, and the everyday moments that made their life together so special.
Mary Ann’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife and mother whose love for her children never wavered, and becoming a grandmother and great-grandmother brought her an even deeper sense of happiness and pride. Some of her favorite memories included supporting her children and grandchildren at their many sporting events and traveling with Glenn. Later in life, she treasured playing cards, eating out, watching classic TV and long conversations around the kitchen table and over the telephone with her family, delighting in every story, milestone, and laugh they shared.
Mary Ann has always greatly cherished time spent with her family and friends. She will be remembered for the unconditional love she so freely gave, her quick wit, and the sharp mind that kept those around her smiling and on their toes.
Mary Ann is survived by her three children: Alana (Jeff) Dier, Christopher (Kaye) Guilette, and Michael (Loretta) Guilette; nine grandchildren: Rebecca Bouche, Lizzy Anschutz, Anna (Ty) Grovogel, Matthew Guilette, Grace Guilette, Daniel Guilette, Courtney (Connor) Preston, Makayla Guilette, Sydnee Guilette; and six great-grandchildren: Mehryn, Jackson, Charlotte, Edwin, Addy, and Vivian.
