New Kewaunee quilt shop, Airbnb lodge holds open house Oct. 25

Posted

KEWAUNEE - A new quilting business and Airbnb lodge is holding an open house from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25.

Ann Maloney opened Annie’s Quilt & Lodge in a former brewery in downtown Kewaunee on Sept. 3. Her shop offers fabric fat quarters and yardage, batting, backing fabric and notions. Long arm quilting services are provided with a computerized Gammill machine; Maloney said not many long arm machines are computerized to provide the most accurate results.

The loft of the building houses the lodge that Maloney said has "a quaint, old world charm" and is listed at Airbnb.

Maloney has quilted for more than 25 years and said her shop offers a large assortment of quilting options in a relaxing atmosphere.

Annie’s Quilt & Lodge is at 316 Ellis St., Kewaunee. The open house will offer prize drawings, refreshments and demonstrations of the long arm quilting machine.

For more information, call 920-388-4595. A website for the shop, wisconsinquilt.com, will be up in about a month.
